FLV MP3 Converter converts AIFF to SPX (Speex) easily and quickly. Speex is an Open Source/Free codec patent-free audio compression format designed for speech. The Speex codec aims to lower the barrier of entry for voice applications by providing a free alternative to expensive proprietary speech codecs. Moreover, Speex is well-adapted to Internet applications and provides useful features that are not present in most other codecs. FLV MP3 Converter is also a professional audio conversion software. The software supports almost any video and audio formats such as SPX, AAC, VOC, FLAC, AMR, AIFF, M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), CAF (Core Audio Format), DTS, ALAC (Apple Lossless), etc. It could convert APE to MMF, AIFF to AAC for iPod/iPhone/iPad/iTunes/DSi, VOC to DTS, MP3 to M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), MKV to MP2, DVD to FLAC, FLAC to M4R (iPhone ringtone), AU to MKA, and so on. FLV MP3 Converter supports batch conversion and, is full compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Vista and Windows 7.
What is AIFF? Standard AIFF is a leading format (along with SDII and WAV) used by professional-level audio and video applications, and unlike the better-known lossy MP3 format, it is non-compressed (which aids rapid streaming of multiple audio files from disk to the application), and lossless. Like any non-compressed, lossless format, it uses much more disk space than MP3¡ªabout 10MB for one minute of stereo audio at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a sample size of 16 bits. In addition to audio data, AIFF can include loop point data and the musical note of a sample, for use by hardware samplers and musical applications. The file extension for the standard AIFF format is .aiff or .aif. For the compressed variants it is supposed to be .aifc, but .aiff or .aif are accepted as well by audio applications supporting the format.
Note that Speex has a number of features that are not present in other codecs, such as intensity stereo encoding, integration of multiple sampling rates in the same bitstream (embedded coding), and a VBR mode. Step-by-Step Instructions to Convert AIFF to SPX (Speex):
